S.W. Erdnase's true identity
has never been discovered. Many researchers believe that his
real name was "E.S. Andrews" which is arrived at by
reversing the letters of "S.W. Erdnase."
He has written a single book in
1902 under the "Erdnase" alias that has become a classic on
cheating at cards. The book is full of techniques and
concepts that are still in use today.
In discussing "The Expert At
The Card Table" Martin Gardner wrote "[The methods] are as
useful today by magicians and card hustlers as they were in
1902. This book is still the bible of card 'mechanics,' and
as much a delight to read as it was in the early years of
this century." |
